Grandma Mary has been visiting this week and while daddy was in an all day real estate class we decided to make some yummy (non paleo) comfort food to settle in for a night of football. Not only did Daniel treat us to two long naps today, he showed that is getting ready for finger foods. He polished off his dinner: green beans, store bought chicken + sweet potato, and a some peaches for dessert and then sat on my lap, watching intently, while I ate my dinner: BBQ chicken and ribs, green beans and mac & cheese. I decided to take a tiny piece of chicken and give it to him to see if he'd go for the texture. He took it, sucked on it, gummed it a bit, swallowed, smiled and opened his mouth for more! After a few bites of chicken we moved on to the pork. Another winner. He was so excited that he even chomped down on my fingers (hurts wtih those little teeth!) when I'd put the meat in his mouth. But he is definitely his momma's boy and loves his BBQ! Grandma got these pictures to document this momentous occasion of eating a meat and solid. We still need to work on other textures (peas and green beans being the biggest offenders) but he's getting there!
