naked time continues
Daniel loves to take off his clothes. Most of the time we can convince him to keep on his diaper. The naked time usually starts right after a meal, whether it's breakfast or dinner, it usually begins with "socks? pants?" "Mommy help" And well, why not...the trick is to get him back in the clothes when we need to leave for school. Thankfully he loves to go "outside" so much that we say "well you have to have pants and socks and shoes on to go outside" and it usually works. And until recently he hadn't figured out how to get off his diaper, until on nap time he got it off twice. Thankfully he just wet the bed, but he was awfully proud of himself. He also likes to just hang out in his crib during those nap times and hang out with his pants off...and sing. (see his video). Who doesn't love being free!

Second time around...
I try to never go more than a week without posting some sort of update, but just as weekly belly photos of #2 seem to not be happening (at all) I'm barely finding the time to click publish on the draft pages I wrote a few weeks ago when I had the spare time to upload some photos. But as my dear friend and blogger inspiration Palmetto Momma mentioned this weekend, our blogs are the best baby books ever...so I figure like the actual physical baby book that I have for Daniel, something is better than nothing!
This weekend Daniel and Daddy had a busy Saturday morning/early afternoon going to swim class and showing a property to one of daddy's clients. And as it so happens this client is a Naval officer and has a son at the USNA. Hope Daniel was absorbing all of the Navy talk...I on the other hand, enjoyed a lovely morning of pedicures followed by a lazy lunch with some girlfriends. Between the five of us at lunch (and the one there in spirit since she's scheduled to have her #3 tomorrow) we have ten kids under the age of 4 and two more on the way. We jokingly had to remind ourselves to eat slowly because there wouldn't be an imminent meltdown if we didn't. It was lovely. While the first time around was an absolute downpour of a baby shower (figuratively and literally, I think there were flash flood warnings on the day of Daniel's baby shower) this was more of a relaxing calming sprinkle...like the long hot showers that a mother of toddler never seems to get any more.

Date night with mommy
I wanted something fun to cap off my "day off" that had been spent fasting for the first half of the day, followed by 5 hours in various doctor's offices and more time on my blackberry than I wanted. So Daniel and I grabbed some snacks and went to Gravely Point to watch the airplanes land at National Airport. He was a little scared at first but became really fascinated. He did keep asking about helicopters though...he sure does love things that fly! It was a wonderful evening that felt completely indulgent especially since I got a lot of snuggles out of it too!
Let's go fly a kite!
We had a gorgeous day on the day before Easter, which also happened to be the start of the Cherry Blossom Season (though there wasn't a bud in sight). I took a day off of non-stop work and we had a nice family time down near the Washington Monument for the Kite festival.

Spring snow...
Catching up on pictures...kind of amazing to think most snow we had all winter was during the last week in March. While we were ready for spring flowers and warm weather. It was nice to get Daniel into his snow suit. He never got to wear his last winter. Guess we'll put this one away for two years and hopefully his little brother can wear it then. Daniel was a fan of the snow...just not the gloves and how cold his hands got when he tried to grab the snow when his gloves were off.
