We have been trying to get Daniel to recognize that there's a "baby in mommy's belly." He is recognizing pictures of babies and saying "baby" and even sometimes when we lift my shirt, point and ask "is there a baby in there?" he walk over, pull my shirt down and say "no baby"...well, that's one way to live in denial. But last night, I was exhausted (starting to feel big) and laying on the couch. Daniel walked over, lifted my shirt and said "baby in there" and then completely unprompted, kissed my belly. We have tried to get him to do this before, but he usually ends up hitting me or pulling my shirt down. This was doubly cute because it was an un-coaxed sign of affection. Though, before you start to say how cute that was, take note that 95% of the time he's hitting my stomach to make me pick him up (it's at hand-level) or kicking me when I'm trying to change him on the bed or changing table. But if this baby is as active out of the womb as he is IN the womb, Daniel has his work cut out for him. Let's hope he plays nice while BU2 is still small and defenseless...they'll have plenty of time to wrestle later.
